Who else is like me and still loves a good cup of tea in the summer? How about a tea recipe that can be served hot or cold and is made from flowers? Yes please!

The Hibiscus flower is a beautiful bloom that is grown in warm-temperature, tropical regions around the world and can vary in colour. This beverage is known as agua de jamaica in Mexico and Honduras, bissap in West Africa, and In Egypt, Sudan and the Arab world, hibiscus tea is known as karkadé (كركديه).

I cannot count how many times I’ve been asked questions such as, “So what is the purpose of hijab?”, “What happens if you show a little skin?”, “No one is judging you, it’s ok, can’t you just go without?”, and last but not least…”Aren’t you hot under that?”.

Abaya Love + Why I Choose To Dress Modest

Don’t get me wrong, I  actually love when people ask me questions like these. For one, it gives me the opportunity to educate someone about Islam and the beautiful concept of modesty. Let’s face it, there is a lot of misconception about hijab & modest clothing. Many believe that the concept of modesty and covering one’s body is oppressive towards us as women and is a backwards ideology that does not fit in our current times.

I beg to differ!  This is where it becomes important for girls who choose to dress and live modestly, to tell their stories and voice their views on what modesty means to them.

It’s the middle of the week and we could all use a healthy pick-me-up to get us through our hectic schedules!

Since we have been having some really beautiful weather here in T.O., I was inspired to create a recipe that is delicious as well as refreshing and super healthy. I think a gorgeous smoothie bowl will do the trick! 🙂

Bonjour Beautiful People,

I have a major recommendation for you guys that left me wondering where this brand has been all my life! So Nuxe has the ultimate collection of luxurious oils that are simply divine!

The great thing is that, 97.8% of the ingredients in this Dry Oil are of natural origin, it has a unique combination of 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften your face, body and hair in a single step. Of course I would normally say that being 100% natural would be preferred, but for something this luxurious it has come pretty close.

Not only that, the fragrance is super elegant and leaves a very subtle lingering fragrance to your skin or hair that is really irresistible. Your face and body are left feeling soft and silky. I can see why this product was named the n°1 dry oil in pharmacies in France.

Apply to your skin after your bath or shower and even apply as a hair mask by leaving on for 10-15 min before washing! 🙂

The one I have is a limited edition which is no longer for sale but if you check out the Beauty Boutique at Shopper’s Drug Mart they carry a great selection! (This post was not sponsored).

Hey lovelies!

I am happy to announce I will start to regularly post book reviews on all of the books I am reading, as I am an avid reader and have a huge passion for novels, books on spirituality & wisdom as well as classic works of literature. I think it’s really important to keep the art of reading alive especially in the modern-day in age where everyone spends the majority of their days glued to all sorts of technology. (I’m guilty!)

I decided to spend Canada Day this year pretty low-key and in the most Canadian way possible: cottage, a little beach-time and trekking through some of Ontario’s natural wonders.

Did you guys know that urinary tract infections (UTIs) are responsible for nearly 10 million doctor visits each year? And that one in five women will have at least one UTI in her lifetime? Not only that, nearly 20 percent of women who have a UTI will have another, and 30 percent of those will have yet another. Ugh!

Assalamu alaikum (peace be upon you) lovelies,

This post is super late (to coincide with the launch of Viva Divine), but I wanted to make sure I post something that would commemorate Eid, which marks the end of Ramadan for Muslims. Continue Reading

Kimono literally translates to “thing to wear”, and there couldn’t be a more fitting meaning. I’ve been completely obsessed with Kimonos before they became the modern day trend. Similar to modern kaftans or open abayas, they are the perfect, flowy layer to add to any outfit during the summer and the perfect accessory for the beach. The one I’m wearing here is from Forever 21, which I purchased during the Boxing Day sale in December 2016.

Canadian problems…buying clothes in December that have to stay in the closet for 6 months before we can rock them.

This is my go-to beach outfit! A light, breathable white Tunic, white jeans and top that with the perfect, airy kimono. Perfectly comfortable, perfectly modest!
